Men On A Mission

What is real masculinity? Does it look anything like what the Bible says it is? What's standing in the way of bonding between fathers and sons? Why are there so many reports of male clergy falling into sexual temptations? What is the role of men in our society?

These are some of the topics to be examined on May 29, when The Gleaner's Mind and Spirit publication presents "Men on a Mission", a one-day conference to look at issues affecting men in society and men in the church. Men, from across the island will meet between 9 a.m. — 3 p.m. on May 29 at the Family Church on the Rock, Clifton Boulevard in Kingston. Jamaica Star Chuck Fender & The Dancehall Business.

Since the late '90s, the dancehall business has seen an explosion in the number of producers plying the trade. Many pundits see it as the demise of the genre, while others see it as bringing more creativity to it. Chuck Fender has mixed views where this is concerned.

"When it is better for the business, is when these new producers can bring in more youths into the business and more ideas," he explains. "They have to be putting out good things or it don't make any sense."

According to Fender, jumping into the business for a quick buck can never be the best way to do things. To read more click here. http://www.jamaica-star.com/thestar/20040526/ent/ent2.html .Have your say in the forum http://www.jamaicastar.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl
