Currently,
the entertainment industry has been experiencing
"Turbulence" in the airwaves.

Jamaica-Star.com: Dear Reader
- To Die Young |
This
week, THE STAR wrote about the situation
in Jacques Road, off Mountain View Avenue, Kingston.
In the story, it was said that residents were
fleeing the community because of the violence
which is probably the worse the area has ever
seen. The story also states that three women,
a three-month-old baby and a man have also been
killed in the conflict.
What THE STAR finds most disturbing about
this current conflict is that a baby, who has
committed no wrong and has no clue what is going
on, was murdered by men who later killed his mother.
What is also troubling is the fact that this crime
may also go unpunished.

Youthlinkjamaica.com: Exploring East Indian
History
|
Museums
are stereotypically old, drab buildings, displaying
dull artefacts and, worst of all, staffed with
ageing, boring people! At the Indian exhibition
at the Institute of Jamaica, this is certainly
not the case. The exhibition was launched on August
15, and will continue until the end of December.
The exhibition chronicles the 160 years of the
East Indian presence in Jamaica. It was sugar
that initially led the Indians to the West Indies.
However, coming from one of the longest enduring
civilisations, they brought with them centuries-old
cultural practices and technologies, like rice
cultivation, as well as new products such as curry
powder, all unfamiliar to Jamaica.

Can I get married in Jamaica with a U.S. marriage
certificate? |
Hi.
I am a U.S. citizen. My fiancé is a Jamaican
who was deported after we got engaged. We want to
go on with our plans. I would love to come to Jamaica
to get married. Will I be able to get married in
Jamaica with a U.S. marriage certificate?
Also, we have been trying for years to conceive.
I have polycystic ovarian syndrome. Do you have
any suggestions on successfully conceiving?
