This week we offer congratulations to all persons
who were successful in their Caribbean Secondary
Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations. This
week thanks to good work by Petrina Francis, we
showcase a few of the top performers, just in
case you missed this good news.
 Leighton
Samuels of Campion College is a quiet, hard-working
and humble. An avid lover of basketball, Leighton
also enjoys reading and watching television. He
received the 'True Campionite Award', which is
given to students who are well-rounded and liked

interest is the fact that In 2001, Ava Campbell
received a Scotia
Bank scholarship for her outstanding performance
in the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) that
earned her a place at the Montego Bay High School.
In 2006, she excels in her CSEC examinations.

of the world's oldest sports and one of Jamaica's
most popular, horse racing dates back to 4500
BC when nomadic tribesmen from Europe to Asia
first began to race domesticated horses. The Romans
loved chariot racing as did the Egyptians who
also enjoyed mounted horse racing, both of which
by 638 BC were included in the Greek Olympics.For
