The London-based Negril Peninsula Resorts Limited says they will invest US$500 million into the single-largest mixed-use resort development on the island's westerly point - Negril's West End. The land on which the development will be located is known as Wedderburns, part of the Retreat Estate - a few minutes beyond the popular Negril Lighthouse attraction.

Dr. William Schnoebelen, 57, a former Satanist was in Jamaica for the period May 16-29, 2007, to conduct a series on meetings on prayer and spiritual warfare. His invitation came from the local Christian organisation, Joseph Ade-Gold Ministries. Dr. Schnoebelen hails from Dubuque in Iowa. He is an ordained evangelist and lately, he became a rabbi in a congregation that practices Messianic Judaism. He operates a parachurch organisation called With One Accord ( www.withoneaccord.org ) where he specialises in warning persons about dangers to be found in the embrace of Satanism, Wicca, Voodoo, Freemasonry and cults.

While in Jamaica, Dr. Schnoebelen granted two interviews with Gleaner Religion Reporter Mark Dawes.

Now I was warned long before I ever showed up there, that there was a duppy on the loose in Panton Town, St. Catherine. And one cantankerous duppy he is indeed!

Derrick the duppy showed up about a week ago and has been going around picking fights with residents and throwing sand into people's eyes. I was warned that the duppy didn't like nosy outsiders asking questions about him and was urged to be prepared for the worst.
