Programme Profile

Programme Name: Both Sides of the Story

Dervan Melcolm

Programme Host: Dervan Malcolm

Programme Profile: ‘Both Sides of the Story’ is an attempt to deal with issues, including controversial ones, from both sides and indeed from all sides. Power 106 FM has taken this initiative to create a talk show, unlike any other, a show that will exercise an uncompromising degree of fairness and respect for each other in dealing with serious national issues, where people will listen keenly to each other. The programme broadcasts Monday - Friday, 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

‘Both Sides of the Story,’ takes an analytical approach to all subject matters discussed and features regularly experts in the field who possess extensive knowledge on issues discussed, as we fearlessly put forward an anthology of opinions, facts and experiences gleaned locally and internationally, so that in the end we may find agreement, or agree to disagree!

Both Sides of the Story also has a popular feature on Mondays called Land Solutions with Attorney- at- Law Gloria Brown ,which airs between 2:30p.m. and 3:30p.m.

About the Programme Host: Dervan Malcolm started his broadcasting career at Power 106FM from his days in Sixth Form at Calabar High School as news presenter. He has mastered nearly every aspect of the broadcasting business including the position of Executive Producer for the station. Before Malcolm was given his own time slot-‘Both Sides of The Story’ in 2007, he co-hosted with well respected musicologist Tony Laing.

Mr. Malcolm is also an outstanding University graduate of the University of the West Indies (Mona) an alumnus for his High School Calabar High where he teaches in his spare time.
